Power & travel

Taking a shoe dryer on a trip? The plug is only the first check.

Check the actual unit rating, local power supply and permitted use before packing a shoe dryer. A plug adapter does not convert voltage.

A travel adapter can make two shapes fit together. That does not mean the electrical supply is right for the appliance.

Before packing a shoe dryer for a ski lodge, a work trip or a holiday rental, read the rating label on the actual unit. Do not work backwards from the country selected on an online shop.

What to read on the label

Look for the rated voltage, frequency and power, and compare the permitted supply with the destination. Check the supplied manual for that edition as well. Keep model names and regional editions separate: two products can share a family name without having the same electrical rating.

The SOTHING US reference material for Ultra specifies a US-market unit. It is not evidence that every Ultra sold in another region has identical ratings, or that any one unit supports universal voltage. If the label is unclear, ask support before connecting it.

An adapter is not a converter

Changing the plug shape does not convert voltage. Do not improvise a chain of adapters or assume an unfamiliar power device makes the combination suitable. If the appliance's rating and instructions do not match the supply, do not use it.

Also check the accommodation's rules and the suitability of the outlet location. A convenient socket beside a wet entryway is not necessarily an appropriate place for an electrical drying appliance.

What the Store region does—and does not—mean

The region selector helps you see the local offer, currency and delivery availability. It is not a switch that changes the electrical characteristics of a unit you already own. Moving from the US page to the Japan page does not make a US appliance a Japanese edition.

For a new order, read the selected product and variant details. For a unit in your bag, read its own label. If they appear inconsistent, stop and ask for clarification rather than choosing the more convenient interpretation.

Before packing, and after arrival

Switch off, unplug and allow the appliance to cool as directed before handling or storing it. Pack it without forcing the ducts or controls, using the storage instructions for that model. Do not infer that an indoor plug-in unit can be operated in a vehicle, outdoors or beside snow.

At the destination, check for damage and choose a location that meets the manual's surface, clearance and ventilation requirements. Then check the footwear instructions too. A correct electrical connection does not establish that a liner may be heated.

Keep the model manual and support details available before you leave. If you are ordering for another destination, start from the correct region and ask about the exact unit when anything is uncertain.
